Hi Ho Hi Ho its off to work with my husband I go. I look forward to the three hours of quiet time alone in the store with my husband. I only hope the employees did a quality close last night, otherwise they might make him grouchy and if that happens I might poison the snacks I buy them.
Did I mention how pretty my desk looks with it’s new fancy legs? Other than hanging some things on the wall I think I might finally be finished with my room. I moved it around like it has never been before and it looks really … nice… grown-up…. fancy…. cool.
Happy Monday hope yours is extra groovy.

The legs on my desk have been causing me problems for a long time. The desk holds two computers and this wooden organizer that is pretty heavy. The legs wiggled a lot and you had to have the desk pushed up against the wall but it would still wiggle. With the last move the legs were really messed up and it was driving me nuts.
Tonight when my husband found me under the desk crying he just rubbed my head and told me it was ok… just let it go… just let it out. He knew it wasn’t about the desk. I swore it was and he offered to take me to get new legs. I got new pretty legs, stronger legs and I put it all back together again.
It wasn’t the desk.
I was broken and I’m still pretty fragile. I had my legs knocked out from under me and I’m still trying to find them. At least I made it through without anymore scars.
I’ll be around….

This is a vole and this is what I think is digging up my backyard. This morning when I was mowing the yard I saw a little rodent that looked like this scurry away from my mower. You bet your butt I tried to run him over, but he was quick. Shortly after that I got the willies and I don’t think I’ll ever go into my backyard again.

When I clean my house it means that I clean my house. When my husband cleans the house it means he tells children what to do while he helps them clean. Most of the time when he cleans it’ll be cluttered not dirty and it bothers him, so he’ll just start giving orders. It actually drives us all nuts, mostly the kids but when he’s telling me what to do I get real mad.
So tonight a soda got spilled on the floor and there were some clothes folded on the table… he says, “that’s it, we’re doing a clean.” He starts snapping his fingers at kids and they look at him and he begins his little ritual. The kids look at me and roll their eyes and I smile and walk away.
I’m sitting there plurking away and my son is in my room vacuuming… he looked really cute doing it too. I asked him if he liked vacuuming it and he kind of laughed (like I do) and said…. “uh… no not really.” You would have had to heard it for it to have been as funny as it was, but it made me laugh so hard. Sometimes I forget he is as old as he is because sometimes he still acts like a little boy… he’s growing up and I never gave him permission.

I’m going to do my very best to keep my post as positive as possible even though I’ve been struggling with the negative side of things. So here we go….
We went to a meet and greet for home school at the local Starbucks. We were able to meet several families but none of them had high school kids. There also weren’t any teachers or IDVA representatives. That was a big let down since it was promoted as such. There will be other opportunities to meet them so it’s all good.
The other day I wanted to lay down and take a nap when my son came running in to tell me the back yard was flooded. I thought he was making something up, but sure enough the backyard was flooded. Something was broken in the irrigation and water was spewing everywhere. I couldn’t get the water to shut off so I had to call the irrigation company and they sent someone out quickly. My father-in-law came over the next day to help me fix it. Lots and lots of muddy spots left from the creature digging in my yard, but I sprinkled them with grass seed so it worked out.
My in-laws all took us out to dinner for my husband’s birthday last month. They had wanted to do it sooner but we couldn’t before they left for vacation and they had just gotten back in town. It was a nice lunch and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. I usually never mind going out to eat with them, except for that one time we went to the Slaughter yard and had hamburgers. GAH!
I moved my room around today and it looks cool…. although I’m not totally content with it yet. I will finish it tomorrow and then I think I’ll move my living room around. I am not content with it, the funny thing is we are never out there. Even when we watch tv as a family we all come in our room. Our biggest tv is in the playroom (NOT MY IDEA) and the next biggest is in ours. and the living room has probably one of the smallest tvs. We do play WII in the living room because it has the most amount of space to move around in.
The kids and I went on a bike ride today. We hadn’t been on a ride for several days because it was so damn hot. Almost high 90’s and low 100’s for the past week or so. We have been in the pool almost every day though and my son and I are getting quite the tans, although my legs are still white. My daughter is just like me when I was younger and she’s white as milk.
So yeah, mostly everything is good. I’m not looking forward to school starting and I’ve pretty much just ignored the date in my mind. I was slightly annoyed to see the stupid school supplies at Target and again at Wal-mart. That’s just mean.
