Sounds like summer to me.

My kids riding their bikes. We got my daughter a new bike this year, so now all three of us have new bikes. We have gone on several bike rides but the first one was a killer. The second one was pretty harsh as well. We have a small hill we have to go up and it is murder on my thighs. We haven’t been on a bike ride for a few days because of the heat. Also because I had to take my son’s privileges away when he didn’t listen at a stop sign. Then he cried the entire way home because I was taking away his bike time. Let me tell you, that is probably the worst thing you can do to this Mom is to embarrass her in public with your bad behavior. He ended up with four days rather than the one because he just kept acting poorly.

But the heat, oh my gosh, it has been in the high 90s and a few days of over 100! One day last week was 106 and it was miserable outside. So needless to say we’ve been inside a lot or the kids have been in the pool. I’ve only ventured the pool once and then got right back out since it was way too cold for me.

I’m hoping I can make myself get out of bed earlier than I have been so I can get the yard mowed before it gets hot. With the pool and the trampoline in the back yard I sure have a lot less yard to mow and I sure like that. The extra weed whacking I have to do does not even it out in the least. The weed whacking is the part I hate most.

Otherwise, not much is going on. Mostly just chillin’, staying up late, sleeping in late, watching movies together, playing games online and off, swimming, going for bike rides, trying to stay cool and eating horrible foods. Sounds like summer to me.

All fun and games.

Guitar Hero, originally uploaded by Mrs Groovy.

1. My refrigerator is not working. The freezer is still working which is good. But now we’ll have to pay someone to fix it! Bah, being a grown up sure does suck sometimes.
2. My Mom comes home Monday. She’s been at my sisters house for the past two weeks. I’m excited to see her.
3. My son kicked my butt at Guitar Hero.

Time with my daughter and other things.

Yesterday my daughter and I took the day off school (she hasn’t missed hardly any school this year and there are only 23 days left, so what the heck.) and we spent some quality time shopping. After we dropped my son off at school, we had some grocery shopping to do. We took our time at Walmart just looking around at everything. We came home and dropped off the groceries and put it away, then loaded up my car with garage sale stuff to take to my Mom’s house.

We decided to make a detour to Micheal’s craft store to look at the beads and jewelry stuff. We ended up getting some very pretty pieces that we’re going to try to make and then sell. We ran next door to Bed, Bath and Beyond to get a new Yankee candle, this months discount scent, Butter cream. It makes me hungry just smelling it.

Then we stopped by Wendy’s drive thru for lunch and onto the dollar store. I needed some more color out front so I got about $20 worth of fake flowers to put into my flower pots. We had to run home before stopped at my Mom’s house because I wanted to unload our goodies, so while we were there we grabbed Louie.

Finally we made our way to my Mom’s house and unloaded all of our crap, plus I had borrowed her new carpet shampoo’er this past weekend so I could do my carpets. Her shampoo’er is the best christmas present I ever got her. hah! My carpets look brand new… or maybe just nice and fresh. We chatted with her a bit and then came back home.

I was just barely able to unpack all of our stuff and set up the new flowers and before we knew it, it was time to pick up my son. My daughter and I had a fabulous day just the two of us being silly and hanging out together. She and I both needed some quality time without a little brother around.

My husband wasn’t far behind us with a yummy club sandwich from TGIFridays. I had gotten a $10 card from one of the survey places I do surveys for. The rest of the night just seemed to fly by and shortly it was bedtime. Neither of us wanted our day to end. It did give us a look into how it would feel to home school, being able to make our own hours and such.

It was so hot yesterday, about 75 degrees we all ended up sweaty and sleeping without covers. Now today is very windy and only 61. My son wasn’t feeling well this morning, so I took him into his classroom and told his teacher if at any time he wanted to come home, she could call. So far no call, so I’ll take that as a good sign.

Today after school my daughter gets spacers put in her mouth to make room for what they call a maru (sp?) which basically replaced headgear, lucky chick. Then next Tuesday she’ll get the Maru thingies put on her teeth. She’ll have those for a couple of months before she gets the actual braces on.

Then on Thursday I’m taking them both to a new eye doctor. I’m thinking my son probably needs glasses too since he’s been getting a lot of headaches lately. My daughter thinks she’d like to try contacts so we’ll see about that. I’m thinking she should get glasses and maybe a trial pair of contacts.

Monday for me brings the dreaded pap and medication discussion. It seems I can no longer hold out on them or they will not give me any more pills. What jerks. I’m sure I’ll live. If I like the new eye Doctor I’ll make myself an appointment to get some new glasses as well, since mine are really scratched up.

I guess that is all… I’ve been busy as you can see. I finally got used to putting down 37 for my age about 2 months ago and shortly I’ve have to start putting 38. Wonder how long I’ll continue to put 37 just out of habit. hah!

Young at heart.

He Jumps, originally uploaded by Its Just Me.

Grandpa came over early this morning and the three of us put together the trampoline. Then my husband and I went to the dentist.

When I got home I dropped off my husband and went to pick up the kids to take them to their dentist appointments. Once we all were done at the dentist we had BBQ with Grandpa and then went to jump.

We only jumped for about an hour because their Dad made us come in. Apparently I don’t know when to come in or when it is too cold out for children.

I’m 12 again!, originally uploaded by Its Just Me.

Whatever…. He’ll be at work tomorrow afternoon and we’ll jump our hearts out. Kill Joy!

And the winner is….

Trampoline, originally uploaded by Its Just Me.

But of course I had left my $5s at home, so I used my debit card. Now I’m half way to my vacuum. ha! Just kidding, but then again kind of not. I told my husband that and he just laughed at me. I asked him if he was going to stop bringing me the purple $5s. He brought me one last night.Isn’t he sweet? So we’ll see.. the money should go into our account but it isn’t hurting anything sitting in my closet either.
Grandpa is coming over tomorrow to help us put it together. I am so excited you wouldn’t believe it. I feel like a little kid at Christmas.
